YouTube India is live (via cs) and apart from content licensed from partners like Rajshri Media, Zoom, Bindaas (and others), the site features lots of semi-porn content as well -for e.g. this mallu channel, masalaworld, this one and this and lot more (all nsfw).
There are a few good educational content as well – for e.g. NPTEL (IIT and IISc), IGNOU etc.
Too much of content partnerships? Is YouTube India relying more on partnerships and less on UGC?
My first candid impression : the Indian YouTube doesn’t seem to be about “You” (i.e. the user). It’s about ‘Them‘ – the content players (i.e. ThemTube?)

A line from my blog …
I think all the people who fall under “us” want to elevate themselves to the “them” category. People need a motivation for their actions and often gratification comes in shape of recognition. And moment you are recognized, you become a “them” from an “us”.

Fundamentally, yes – we all want to move up the “maslow’s hierarchy of needs’ ladder.
But, I am questioning the very basic fundamental behind youtube’s india launch – is it content aggregation? Or do they plan to put in effort to build the community?

If it’s a free form of expression why are you excluding porn, I don’t understand it, if somebody want’s to watch it let them watch what’s wrong with that?
Well I dont have an issue with porn.but then google cant keep beating it’s donot be evil trumpet, as all porn sites area governed by DMCA rule that one should be above 18+ to watch that site.
Is google doing that? No
Why?
Can you restrict a kid from watching porn videos @ youtube? There are more fundamental issues than personal tastes.
