????? ??? ????? ??? [Blogger adds Hindi Transliteration]

Non-hindi readers can skip the post!!’

Bloggers, who think in Hindi but hate to write in English can now use this cool feature which translates the Roman English into their mother tongue, i.e. Hindi.

To enable this feature, go to the Settings | Basics page and select “Yes” for the transliteration option.
I gave this feature a try and my first reaction was – Awesome!Well done job? ???? ???? ?? ?????
Other blogging tools like ibibo, rediff etc. have played with local language support feature, but ended up with a pathetic result. Infact, the only other product that comes close to this is Quilpad.

No doubt ???? ?? ????? ?? ??? ???? ????!
A neat and well-executed feature like this will surely see increased adoption of the Blogger platform in India [after all, very few tools have got this right!]

Kudos to Goog for such a great execution.
Read Google’s instructions for more on this feature.

Also, checkout Picasa’s integration with Blogger – Now your Blogger uploaded pics will appear in Picasaweb album! Nice way to resurrect a dying product!

This is excellent, but what would be really nice is if we are able to type twice for the same post – one in english and one in hindi (double the energy, but should be worth the sweat) and have an option for the end-users in the blog post to toggle between languages.

What you are essentially saying is the need for a language convertor?
Goog has a decent translator, but probably Babelfish guys shd give this a serious thought!!
      what says?

      Ashish,
The title needs to be changed to “Blogger adds Hindi Transliteration”, instead of translation.

In case you missed the news, Rediff has invested in Tachyon Tech, the makers of Quilpad.

      Hey Ravi!
      Thanks for that!!
I am aware of Rediff and Quilpad relationship. But honestly, none of the products are very usable.
Beauty of Blogger tranliteration is that you don’t need to worry about the conversion. It’s just accurate!

excellent and its true tht google replaces yahoo in india…. but indians are much more innovative in small-small things as they r already havin a transliteration site http://www.quillpad.com/hindi/
