Browser War Hits the Road

I wonder why browsers have been used for these ‘viral’ campaigns (philosophically speaking, browsers are the gateway to the outside world!)..

And Firefox on a bus!:

Can somebody please help me understand this browser connection?

    1. Recently, I have seen many of my cousins and friends going to Ramdev Maharaj’s Yog Shivir or atleast starting Yoga. These people are living in upmarket areas of Metros and cities and working in IT companies. Even IT companies are starting Yoga classes in companies for Employee satisfaction. I guess the marketing team from Baba Ramdev’s Yog Shivir identified this market and hence targeting them aggressively.

A link on the google home page can get you THAT popular. Though I wonder if Baba Ramdev saw it while searching for something on Google.

And Ashish, maybe now you should tell us about how chrome has been doing on Pluggd In :)

    3. Rajesh Kumar says:

There is no rocket science here. It is just targeting a segment of people with a profile of being early technologogy adapters but indifferent towards Yoga. It is valid segmentation, in my view.
All said, this is quite creative.

As you see the event is organized in Gurgaon which is full of people from web2.0 generation, so i think this is a good marketing strategy given that chrome was one of the most popular search string in recent past.
      Great going Baba!!!

I bet the fire-fox thing on the bus was not a part any browser marketing plan. I think the guy who painted that must have seen that design at some place and thought “hmm… nice fancy one” and copied it on this bus :)

Think sometimes in this new age of information and opinions we tend to over analyze lot of stuff and fail to see that sometimes things are really as simple as they look and there is nothing more to it.
