redBus.in is in talks with Inventus capital to raise Series A fund.
As Kanwal Rekhi (of Inventus Capital) mentions, redBus.in has clocked Rs. 30 crores revenues in 2008 and will announce the funding details very soon.

redBus raised angel round from seedfund and has shown an impressive traffic growth (please note that web is a channel for them, they have offline distribution as well – like partnership with Comat, Karnataka etc)
What’s your take on redBus’s model?

Inventus Capital plans US$125 million India fund targeting early-growth India companies and recently invested in TeliBrahma.

    Hello

To be frank, redbus concept is unique and innovative concept, and another stunning feature is that these guys really worked hard to put bus booking online ( 100% mostly all bus operators are from mass background and not sure of technology and how it ( technology ) will help them. This is where real suffer come out to provide knowledge to them and also show them that tickets can also be booked online

From that starting point, redbus started its success career, from them all other operators too started having there own website with booking app. In india almost all 90% bus operators are now online with there own websites and applications

Ticketvala being the 2nd runner to cross redbus in terms of full bus ticket booking where as redbus at that time used to provide only quota seats alloted to them

The reason ticketvala not into that much success and got failed is due to full bus online allotment in busy routes and also in non busy routes but some how managed to work.

Right now there is no ticketvala ( i got a call from them that they are coming back again soon ). Ticketgoose, Travelyaari are been as runners, where travelyaari is also another redbus concept and ticketgoose working hard to cover south region of INDIA

Finally what i say is simple, redbus guys started it and still rocking it and i hope that there will be soon bus will be allocated in travel insurance, where any person dies in a bus will get insurance amount who knows!

Be Unique and make india Innovative

    Thanks & Regards
