NVP and Reliance Technology Venture Invest in Suvidhaa, S-Commerce Company

NVP and Reliance Technology Ventures have invested in Suvidhaa, a Services Commerce firm.

Suvidhaa enables customers to walk into their neighbourhood convenience/kirana stores and perform all kinds of everyday services such as railway ticketing, mobile recharge, air ticketing, insurance payment, bill payment, bus ticketing, loan origination, movie ticketing, etc. – BS

Suvidhaa powers more than 4,000 local kirana stores across 15 states in over 100 cities and plans to use the funding (amount not disclosed) to expand to 20,000 franchisee outlets across the country by 2009.

Suvidhaa’s offline play is surely is a good example of an intermediary that connects customers with services without customers getting onto the Internet – it’s like a ‘local multiplex’ that offers various Internet services.
