FileMyReturns raises funds from Mumbai Angels and Erasmic Venture Funds

FileMyReturns, the online tax filing company has raised funds from Mumbai Angels and Erasmic Venture Funds. [via].

FileMyReturns started as an online tax filing company and now provides whole lot of services like payroll, HR, retiral benefits, tax solutions and has intranet modules for corporate clients as well.

This is an interesting SaaS story from India, as very few vendors are creating web-based portals at this scale (though there are lot of companies who are into outsourced payroll management)

If you have used their service, please share your feedback.

can they please get rid of all the javascript bugs?
How can one trust a site for completing transaction when there are so many JS bugs in links itself?

    2. Ashwin says:

      @Kode
Forget JS bugs, do u see a vertical scroll to the top right of the site. Scroll it and lol….

    3. kode says:

@Ashwin : this is funny!!! who the eff is shibani roy?
i wonder whether VCs check the product before investign!!

    4. Ashwin says:

Must have been a disgruntled programmer, to have left a message on the home page like that.

I am never going to trust them with my money, if they IT dept. is in such shambles.

    5. Ashish says:

Even I had a similar concern – infact any serious site which expects credit card transaction needs to have elements which increases the faith/trust factor.

This one definitely lacks that trust factor..

      To err is human,
      There’s definitely a human touch to this site… :D

    8. Ashish says:

      a buggy human touch, maybe!

    9. Jagtesh Chadha says:

      That’s cool.

Anyone knows how much capital did they raise?

    10. I remember FileMyReturns :) We(as students) had developed the final year BE project for them.I am sure they are not using it else they would have definitely got more error :)

More human touch to FileMyReturns lol :)

    11. Login shows the blank screen, may be they are using VC funding first to get their software work !!!

with other vendors already offering similar services (examples, taxsmile.com, simpletaxonline.com, taxspanner.com, taxshax.com), in addition to competition from local CA’s (doing the job in cool 100 bucks), it will be interesting to see if yet another “business plan” survives to service over the next couple of years.

      good luck!

    13. Ajay says:

I liked taxspanner.com. their interface is clean and the design is superb!

    14. Mayank says:

Yes, I did a thorough analysis of all the sites mentioned in the comments. taxspanner and taxsmile are way ahead of any other. i agree that taxspanner interface is best and myitreturn is worst.

    15. Jagtesh Chadha says:

      I wonder if it’s a setup!

They still haven’t fixed the vertical scroll-bar!!

    16. Ashish says:

Very fishy! Too bad for a funded startup – how can you trust them for your money?
