ISB to nurture startups, Punjab govt. to launch venture fund

ISB is creating a corpus fund to nurture indian startups. The institute would host ISB alumni entrepreneurs on the campus for sometime and offer mentoring services for their business plans from the second quarter of 2009.

ISB is also working on a proposal to provide grants to the entrepreneurs. In the first phase, about eight students would be mentored.(source)

Punjab govt. to launch venture fund

Punjab govt. is setting up a venture fund in collaboration with private companies to provide financial ass-istance to new ventures in the state.

“We are in the process of setting up a venture capital fund in which state as well as private companies will be putting in money to give funds for setting up new projects coming up in the state,”

    it was another way of ISB to create a hype around itself… n now they r suffering in terms of placements n in-take.
