CrazyPricing acquires majority stake in CafeGadgets

Delhi based CrazyPricing, a consumer electronics retail chain has acquired majority stake in CafeGadgets, online retailer of gadgets and gizmos.

CafeGadgets has a registered user base of over 1 lakh customers and was also powering CrazyPricing site.

What’s happening in retailing space?

Many of the offline stores are looking to expand to the Internet world (very recently, Picsquare secured funding from Bhola Digital Labs.)and are looking for a good deal. Many of such Internet portals haven’t been able to gain major traction (aren’t you surprised that seventymm has only 70K customers?) and are maybe, available for a cheap price.

What’s your opinion?

Cheap price…wonder how it is determined in case of a portal that has not yet gained major traction.

100,000 registered customers? Really? While of course the Google PageRank depends on ranking of incoming links, with that size of a registered user base it should surely have a higher PageRank of 0/10?

Gautam, cafegadgets.com has a page rank of 4/10, which is quite impressive for a 1 yr old vertical E-commerce site and considering they are E-commerce partner for most of the IT and mobile brands (http://www.in.samsungmobile.com/index.jsp)click on samsung Estore and have SIS arrangement with all the major E-commerce sites in India, they seem to be doing quite well, avg 10k acquisitions a month is surely an achievement in the product category they deal in.
