Where to get *INDIAN* Royalty-Free/Low-cost stock images?
  • Hi,

I would like to use some good images for my website.
Mainly it needs to be with Indian Faces.

of course, google can give me some good links.
I still like to know where my fellow startup friends are getting it from.

I Hope your answers will be helpful for everyone else.

    Great Thanks in advance.

  • @Prabu If you are looking for Indian faces the best place would be www.imagesbazaar.com

    Check this http://www.imagesbazaar.com/advancesearchresult.aspx?id=smiling face &idtot=smiling face&exec=True&nonexec=True

Each image that's suitable for Webpage will cost you around Rs.800 - Rs.1600 approx. It's costlier compared to other International website like www.shutterstock.com but still cheaper than hiring a photographer.

  • You have hit the nail on the problem. There is a shortage of pictures with "Good happy smiling Indian faces".  You will have to spend a lot of time looking for a picture that matches with what you have in mind. There is big change you might have to settle with something different.

If this pic is going to be a key part of your homepage then you should can explore the option of hiring a photostudio and give them your idea. It will cost you around ~7-10 times more per pic then buying from say shutterstock but yes it will have indian faces and pic would be exactly what you had in mind. There is a cheaper option but it requires more time and involvement. You can shortlist a few stock pics which you like. Hire a local photographer with a decent studio and tell him to recreate these photos. You will have to get a few aspiring models from your local modeling agency or look on facebook for models in your area willing to work on TFP terms. This would be much cheaper then hiring a professional photostudio.
