HSBC Threatens a Techie, Sends Goons for Uploading a Hack Video
  • What a shame on HSBC that a hacker, Yash who found holes in HSBC' token (hardware) is made to suffer from the bank.

    1. 02/02/2012: HSBC has sent goons to my residence, after failure attempts to
bring down content with the help of service provider. I was not present at that
time; they have asked my family members rude questions. HSBC showed their method
how they deal with cyber security in India.
    2. 01/02/2012 : HSBC again asked this hosting provider to remove video of
Man-in-browser attack. Based on the request of hosting provider i have removed
video from this site and given external references to watch the same videos at
      Vimeo and Facebook.
    3. 21/01/2012: www.yashks.com is disabled by hosting provider
(www.bluehost.com) without any notice to me. They have acted based on complaint
by HSBC Bank. Bank has provided a reason saying “I am teaching how to hack HSBC
bank”, this is wrong reason. In video, it only shows the consequences and how it
is going to effect onling banking customers.

  • HSBC - Thinks Global! Acts Local!
  • They should in fact be thanking him and rewarding him for finding out what their own IT security folks have not been able to.

  • This is the Indian way to deal with crisis. That is, show muscle power. And thankfully there are no laws to protect such misbehavior.

I am the founder of Pluggd.in.
  • HSBC is known for such behavior. They kept calling my residence (parents) and kept threatening them with "any" consequences for a late payment charge which they claimed was pending. Don't know if others have similar behavior, but this is the way it works in India.

  • What an outdated way to handle a security issue.

Any top "Technology" company would have thanked and "rewarded" this guy.

Facebook and google have a bug reporting program which actually "pay" hackers to find an exploit.
Fb has an interesting way of attaching value to its program. http://thehackernews.com/2012/01/facebook-distributing-white-hat-debit.html

  • basically we grown up like that.. if somebody shown some wrong either in a company or in a person ( personally ) we wont greet them or thank them for letting us our own problems..

to be frank, if i tell you some thing that hurts you, but later it helps you alot.. will you greet me or thank me for telling the truth. most people first start with bad words and that end up with fight.. the same as its our max culture HSBC done the same

it might thank a US person or UK customer person who shown the HSBC flaw, . even latest news cover like SBI will start posting the photos of its customers on newspapers who fail to pay the loan amount..

i also came to see a pic on some facebook wall, its like saying we pay 100/- to a person who serves food in hotel but we wont even give 20/- note to a small child begger..

i know its all we, who has to change and then country automatically changes and that's how banks too change the way they behave with customers

i am sorry if i post out of subject, but HSBC done the same task like other banks like ICICI, HDFC and others do to there customers who fail to pay the loans, or any thing..

these private banks show fake love, we know they charge more but they come to us and lend money, later they start charges and when we came to know about all these things, already damage has be done, if we start complaining about all these, these people say before taking loan you have to go through terms and condition and now its already time up. pay the interest or loan amount and leave otherwise goons will come, banks will call causing damage to personnel respect

hope people can understand my inner thing

    Thanks

    sai
