Irrelevant Marketing by Yebhi on Facebook
  • [ Edit : Moved to CrowdFix  - we want them to fix this! TFS ]

    Irrelevant Cheap Marketing
Yebhi is showing all semi nude pics on all their FB ads just to get clicks i guess.
Pics are completely irrelevant to what ad says.

  • Yes @Arpan - its the same thing with web advertising in general. But ultimately, the brand suffers.
Like I have been saying on Pluggd.in, the access to 'easy money' is the culprit - this isn't the money they probably deserved/needed (i.e. to hire a marketing agency like this)..

  • In all probability, it would be their media agency/partner which is the culprit here. usually ad networks offer facebook ads on a cost per click basis. To lower their internal CPCs and get max profit, they sometimes resort to such tactics. By showing semi nude pics, their ad CTRs increase and the CPC drops. However yebhi would continue to pay the fixed CPC price, allowing the partner to earn a 3-500% gain!
  • Thanks for that insight @Arpan. @sinha - could you check with Yebhi? Either way - they're responsible, right?

  • Common FB marketing technique. Show sexual images for increased clicks. Usually though you expect this with dating sites or something of that nature.

  • I feel its okay to use fund to increase brand visibility but then if they love their biz they should try doing it themselves rather than giving it out to such external pricks.

  • Dude I don't think this is irrelevant or anything. If they are selling lingerie then they can add an image of a women draped in saree and if you think this is cheap then you should check AXE's Page and there page. They have nothing to do with women still they are posting cheesy pictures of women in bikinis.

I think its fair as a brand to post what you are selling.

  • These Yebhi ads reminds of the word "kuch bhi" :)
  • @ankulbarar - AXE is known for its bold branding. If Yebhi has to sell more lingerie, it should just be part of the ad message also.

  • Most Ads these days are irrelevant, be it TV or Print. Anyone remember the JK Super Cement Ad? :D :D
    'Isme kuch khaas hai'! hahahahaha

But if you look at it, it creates Brand Retention! :P :P

  • @GurinderPS Remember Neha Dhupia telling "either sex sells orShah Rukh Khan." So until these companies can't get SRK they will continue this type of promotion to create Brand Retention. But lets hope when they can afford SRK its not too late for them to get Image makeover.

  • @bijay haha....That is true, But 'Marketing' guys these days have become total retards, You can't use Sex to sell cement, it's totally irrelevant!

Plus there is now this new trend on Facebook that everyone must have a competition in B-Schools requiring people to get the maximum likes on a FB Page. It's almost like it's written in the Constitution! Totally Bizarre!

  • From my point of view, in also these type of ads may b media agencies are responsible but yebhi is equally responsible because its their brand name. And they are not stopping the media agency. So, definitely media agency will use all these type of ads bczs they are doing their job.
  • A relevant point :) its like Like keye liyeh kuch bhi karega.
Even shaadi.com does that. Apart from this one needs to ask where are your driving the fan also. It will take time but hopefully brands will learn it the harder way.
