Of Y! Live, server choke and FastCompany

So the entire world is cribbing about Y! Live’s server choke and Scoble goes on to say

“I’m so disappointed…The service doesn’t work. Says “Yahoo! Live is an experimental release. We’ve experienced heavy traffic and are taking a breather to tune things up a bit.”This is the best that Yahoo can do?”

Very logical. Not expected from Yahoo!

fastcompany

Interestingly, Scoble’s FastCompany’s DB is up for hack: ‘username is dr30227 and the database server is 1.7.157.12. !’

Was that expected from FastCompany? Definitely not.

Lesson learnt? It’s damn easy to point fingers at others; but make sure that it’s not up you own a**!

    Hey Ravi
I know this is not my regular blogging-self!, but I have a lot of respect for Robert Scoble and at times, its frustrating to see few respected bloggers bring down a product by pointing to stupid things.
If a product is bad, screw it…as far as servers are concerned, even FastCompany server was down :D

I agree its a shame on Y! to not plan accordingly, but c’mon these things are part of life (even Gmail has done damn stupid things..Blogger faces tons of server issues)..

I know.infact all bloggers are sort of screaming about this – which is understood given all the ‘yahoo stories’ in the last few days.
But the basic qn is was this reallly such a big story that deserved so much of attention (esp. when the site clearly mentions that this is a ‘tryout’ service)…
Are bloggers just looking for ‘hot’ stories? Maybe
