Fachak Launches MashBox, Single Embedded Player for Rich Media Content

Fachak (review) has launched Mashbox, a single embedded player for all things rich content – i.e. videos from youtube, presentations from slide, image slideshows – i.e. mixed format compilations.

The basic premise of Fachak is that users consume information and not formats – and hence, Fachak allows one to create mashups across different media and suggests related content while you are browsing content.

Essentially, MashBox would enable you to pick up your favourite content from across the internet and make it accessible through a single embeddable player.

Have a look at this Google logo mashbox:

The challenge that  I see with Fachak is lack of clear and concise positioning (slideshare too has enabled youtube integration)– maybe focusing on few sectors will help (say, education) or creating few verticals will help them.

What’s your take?

    F****d up Bad.

Give me a single reason to use MashBox. It’s beside the point that it looks ugly.

Relief for bloggers like me when we need to put in multiple videos from youtube in a single post.

But honestly, I would have been happier to see support for more than youtube. Vimeo would have been really nice.

    Hey,

saw this news, went over to fachak.com and usability is pretty good.. Though some changes would make it better.. I am impressed that mashbox can be embedded any where…. I can see a lot of situations where this can be useful.

    Thanks.

Mashbox is a great addition to Fachak line-up. Speaking from a content publisher perspective, this mashbox can really help me in putting a lot rich media resources in a single window, and help build more context with the content I produce.

    Great product. Love it.

Its really a good effort.. MashBox.. if i look up at the usecases there r many..
recently, i was looking for a presentation on Networks( our subject in btech), n i found a mashbox on the subject.. it shud be downloadable though..secondly, i will show it to my professors if they make all their lectures available at a single mashbox like thing..

and fir bloggers its cool to collect n put stuffs…, but that less than 30 second thing i a crap as it took me 2 mins to decide what to select n what not to..then another 5 to 6 mins to publish it..!!! but under 10 mins would work for them i guess so.. :) ,,,

overall a nice attempt.. could be refined a lot…
