      I just tried MetroMela and as Keepitreal said, it was pathetic. In fact, pathetic is an understatement. I searched for Chinese Food in Koramangala in Bangalore while asklaila.com showed me 11 results.

      Why are there so many new startups in the local search market. And the worse part is they offer nothing better/newer features when compared to the existing ones.

      And how did this startups win TiE 2008, they just copied an idea, gave it a new domain name.

      @Keepitreal @Devakishor you have hit the nail on the head. Mediocrity seems to get rewarded ever so often it is really frustrating and discouraging too.

      I think there is a serious mismatch between what companies offer and what VCs look for. Cannot explain this otherwise

      Basic qn – leave metromela (they hv good data in hyd), what about other startups? one of them seem to be from dubai – how come it features in TiE event?

      Seems organizers couldnt get good startups this time..maybe we dont need too many startup event in india..
