Welcome to Startup Disco – an idea that popped while having lunch with Yusuf and Rajiv.
Enough of “Meet the VC”, “Demo your Startup” bullshit. Say F.O to all these events and celebrate your own hardwork – @ Startup Disco.
What’s Startup Disco?
As the name says, startups + disco - i.e. lets meet in a pub.. and do what?
Head banging, Dance, Chat, Drink, Bitch about VCs, Share ideas, Find partners and everything that you have been wanting to do.
Most importantly, a break from your busy schedule and a chance to mingle with other entrepreneurs.

- When/Where? May 23rd (Friday) at Taika pub, Bangalore
- Who is going to pay? Well, I’d have loved to pay your bills, but lets keep it very simple (and affordable) for now. Each one of us will pay our own bill (i.e. dutch).
- What else? If you have questions/comments, leave them in the comment section

We dont really have an attachment per se for any place, but since the “disco” is on friday, I am a little apprehensive abt the stag thing.
Please suggest something else if you are aware of.

FYI, Taika opens around 9.00 pm and closes by 11.30pm, if I’m not wrong. Stags are allowed if you are in a group, and the entry fee is Rs.500 & Rs. 300 for couples I’m told. So guys, make sure you tk ur wives & Gfs along!

is there an upper age limit into the disco? f*^&* rs.500 is steep for an entry! plus booze bill after that. it is a tad expensive for a poor teacher. how broad minded are they on the ‘couple’ front?

What’s the other alternative? Please suggest asap!
oops..they were allowing sometime back. Any idea about Brigade, Fuga or Opus. HRC is horrible as I heard.

ok guys, here is an updtae. A friend discussed with Taika and they said they will allow stag after some assurance. She also negotiated the rates for Startup Disco (Rs.300 for single or couple). They can give us a corner table which will accomodate 15-20 people.
However, we will have to confirm them about number of people and whether we can collect passes or pay on the spot and will it be a group or individual payment. I would think passes would be better if the that person is not available etc but then one need to get money in advance and I am not sure if we have any time left for it. Suggestions?

Wish I cud’ve attended the bash, maybe next time im in B’lore. I think you hv sorted out the payment options with Mr. Dimaiyah (sorry it isnt Timaiyah as I mentioned) and hopefully the whole group will go hand-in-hand with whatever you people have decided. So have fun you guys and do update on how the ‘Start-up Disco’ goes! I think a little fun is important along with work, and the kind of work you guyz put in, you definitely need a break! Cheers!!

I didn’t mean to say F.O to VCs forever. With so many events going on and all doing the same stuff (which are important for the startups), startups need a head banging event!
