IIT Bombay’s E-Summit 2008 is slated to be held on the 10th of February, 2008 and will mark the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the institute.e-summit

Please tell us more about E-Summit:
E-Summit is a unique initiative by The Entrepreneurship Cell, IIT Bombay, which serves as a social forum for the Entrepreneurial Community, bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups, successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and academicians on a common platform to interact and help build successful enterprises. E-Summit ‘08 commemorates the Golden Jubilee of IIT Bombay, with an overlying theme of Emerging Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in India. It is a day long conference with insightful talk sessions and panel discussions along with exclusive mentoring sessions by seasoned entrepreneurs. E-Summit ‘08 also brings the VC Pitch – a platform for start-ups to raise venture capital, along with playing host to the finals of Eureka’07- the international business plan competition by E- Cell, IIT Bombay and Conference of Entrepreneurship Cells.

Is E-Summit for early stage startups or growth stage as well? What are the startup categories E-summit will focus on?
The VC Pitch in E-summit is targeted only for early stage startups. As far as the panel discussions are concerned though they are mainly targeted at early stage startups growth stage startups can also attend.

How is E-summit linked to Eureka?
Eureka! is the International Business plan competition organized by E- Cell,IIT Bombay. It is a 3 stage procedure started in August’07. The first stage attracted 1000+ entries from which 40 teams were selected for second round. After extensive mentoring and further evaluations the top 8 teams will now present their plans in the Finals scheduled to be held during E-summit.
