When will people start accepting the reality than keep on blaming ‘team spirit’, lack of focus, lack of adaptation of Indians etc…

thing is simple…..as a feasible ‘career option’ SPORTS (other than cricket) is yet to be considered in India. So are STARTUPS. that’s it. If someone can do something about it, do it. Pls dnt blame ‘personal dynamics’ as a reason for not winning medals in olympics or not having grt startups in India.

I wonder why the stereotype is that Indians are not good at working together in teams? Is it because we’re culturally more diverse than other nations?

Perhaps the concept of teamwork is alien to us because we are not instilled with it growing up. I remember that in school in Bombay, rarely was I put on a group project – at most, I’d have a lab partner – that too only because it wasn’t economical for the school to have equipment for every student. Perhaps it’s because of the same reason we don’t do too well in the Olympics – because we aren’t exposed to enough sport growing up. In the UK, children play football and rugby growing up; in the US – american football and basketball. Sure, we’ve got cricket, but even this ‘team’ game seems to revolve these days around the start batsman.

Abhinav Bindra was preparing sliently for 10 years with single aim of becoming the best (he was world champion already). Many internet startups in India can learn from that as well. Talk less on copy-clone sites, instead solve some real problems and the world will take notice!!!
