Ex Miss India, Celina Jaitley has launched cybercrime complaint against the famous gadget site, Gizomodo (Gawker owned) for morphing her pictures.
Celina Jaitley has also lodged a complaint against an Indian website for publishing her morphed pictures.
As per Celina, the morphed pictures are being used on the two website to sell gadgets. Her pictures had the words “Slide to unlock” written on her panty.

Given that this involves an American site, what are the options Mumbai’s anti-cybercrime has?

Anyway, big deal. I’d love to see what they can do since Gizmodo is a US site.
May be there will be a Cyber law in Indian IT Law books, and if not there is sure to be an amendment to deal with foreign websites which doesn’t have their physical presence in India.In this case it’ll take some time but Cyber crime team will definitely align with their counterparts in US to resolve the issue.
But in this case, Indian courts or police has absolutely no jurisdiction. Remember that although such ‘salacious’ images or whatever Indian IT laws call it are not allowed on Indian websites, they are very much allowed in the US. Heck, even pornography is legal in the US while it’s not in India (for webmasters). So why would US law agencies bother when Gizmodo is not violating any of _their_ rules? Americans take Freedom of Speech under the First Amendment very seriously.
I guess the sensible thing for Celina Jaitley to do would have been to get in touch with Gizmodo, and ask them to take it down. I’m sure they would have obliged.
That’s ok US agencies will not do anything,but then pornography is a different thing and deteriorating image of any famous personality by posting such content is all together different,it should be checked definitely by some agency,otherwise tomorrow Gizmodo will morph images of any other global personality may be of Oprah Winfrey or Aishwarya Rai and it’ll continue.Some check should be there.
Prohibiting is good but hard to enforce.as a general doctor i know fully well that porn is an ingrained element in human mind and action, and that it is a favorite of persons at certain ages, times, and moods.if you ban one site, oh there are many much porny than this, in action, stills, tales, and so on. this reminds me of an old lady who draped the sculpt porn on her temple.she might try this on the gigantic porn at Konark??? porn involving cruelty,child and extortion are awful, but there seems demand for that too, a pity.
& CJ gizmodo doesn’t need to become popular by using your name. they already are. Indian cyber laws are sick. Indian police are the most illiterate people on planet.. I will stand by my comment if anyone wanna argue common dude..
