Dear Mr. Ashish,
I would be coming out with a website to bring together like-minded individuals to read and post stories and articles related to their pranks, real incidents, sweet and painful memories, grief etc shortly. I am a government employee plus a freelance journalist. Kindly help me to use the best technology I should use. I have ordered a customized web solution through Times Internet Limited so that I get the best. Please advice me how to get revenue from my website and make it a popular one. I have paid Rs.33000 as advance.I can send you further details if you wish. I do not know anything technology-wise except MS office and email. I need a complete formula to supplement my creative ideas.
Thanks & Regards,
Johnson Manickaraj
Hi Johnson,
If you have already paid someone make the best out if by spending as least as possible beyond this.
There are lot of options available without paying any money. You can start by blogging in blogspot or similar sites, this helps you to get audience and allows people to search. You can use forums like facebook, orkut etc to know people your website exist. Blogs allow you to upload photos and you dont pay anything even if there are lots of people visiting your website.
Getting to do this yourself would cost you lots of money, i am assuming you dont want to leave your job but would like to make a meaningful contribution and then based on revenue or hits make it a real good website.
Honestly put website a or b the key difference most of times is the content, and then things like how simple it is navigate and how well laid out it is and other things kick in.
Hope this helps.
P.S by the way i was thinking of website like this myself, but would have stories of hope and fight backs from real people.
