Was Bangalore Telecom Website Hacked?

It seems Bangalore Telecom website, bangaloretelecom.com was hacked, or atleast there was an attempt to inject malicious script, gumblar.cn (has been blacklisted by Google).

See the screenshot below

Gumblar.cn exploit is usually injected right before the <body> tag and when the script is executed (every time someone visits the infected web page),  another script from “gumblar . cn/rss/” is silently loaded and executed.

Incidentally, 95% of the sites infected by this exploit uses PHP (bangaloretelecom too).

It is very sad that this exploit is getting associated with PHP. Hope you don’t spread wrong messages if it is not a PHP security hole.

Well..this is not the first time PHP’s security hole have been noticed..PHP injection is quite a serious issue – and many sites are under threat(wordpress is a frequent target)

        • Arun says:

Come on, the worm spreads mainly using compromised FTP passwords, not using any PHP security hole. It is written in PHP+JavaScript doesn’t mean these fine guys should carry the bad name. Pity that people leave homework in schools and come write stuff.

    4. Hey, I came across this blog article while searching for help with JavaScript. I’ve recently switched browsers from Opera to IE. After the change I seem to have a issue with loading JavaScript. Every time I browse website that needs Javascript, the site doesn’t load and I get a “runtime error javascript.JSException: Unknown name”. I cannot seem to find out how to fix the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks
