Aircel to Launch Mobile App Store (In partnership with Infosys‘ Flypp)

Aircel has partnered with Infosys to launch it’s mobile app store. The app store will allow users to browse and download applications on their mobile handsets (source).

We earlier covered the launch of Infosys Flypp, an application platform that enables mobile service providers to offer a host of ready-to-use experiential applications across the universe of devices.aircel logo

Flypp platform enables mobile operators to offer a bouquet of applications, including third party ones to its subscribers with a rich and engaging customer experience. The platform also includes an Application Toolbox to test and certify the satisfactory operation of applications on service provider environments.

Now that operators are fighting pay-per-second battle, mobile app stores seems to be the next big bet (Airtel earlier launched Rs. 200 cr innovation fund). App stores can really drive a lot of vas usage, especially in areas like entertainment and local navigation, but then operators need to go beyond the bikini babes and sleazy content that they promote.

What’s your take on mobile app stores from Indian operators? Can they ‘do it?

      Hello :)

Yeah its a best solution at this point.

      1) People buy mobiles in mobile stores, mobile shops, fancy stores etc etc

      2) Mobile Stores cant provide softwares ( illegal or legal ) to customers of there choice, mobile shops and other stores people provide software to users, ringtones, Movies illegally etc etc

      3) Due to lack of complete knowledge a good mobile user is facing problem like what type of software is useful to him, where he can get and how much he needs to pay and if that software needs to be online then how much mobile operator will charge for online.

      4) The fact is that the mobile phones in india are double the total population of india, the reason is simple more operators, more offers, and people started maintaining atleast 3 to 4 simcards of different operators.

      5) for all these the actual user wasting his money for putting on buying sims, recharging them, getting illegal apps from third parties, pirated music and movies

      6) So if a operator put up a mobile store in a specific area it will be the complete solution to all the problems, where a end user can get clear details from company side, good and legal software applications that suit his mobile model, and the ringtones that are legally copied

For me in a town if 8 operators are there and if 8 mobile app stores are there, thats enough each operator store will be one stop shop for the end user needs and that too legal way and thats how there will be a change in people and that might lead to development of country

Please provide me your feedback :)

      Thanks & Regards
