This is our 1000th post and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank our readers for the value they have added to the site. ![]()
Most important signs of a good blog is the amount of insights people add to the blog, and we have been very fortunate to have that!
In order to take pluGGd.in to next level, I need your help.
I solicit your feedback(s) and suggestion(s).
Please share your comments on:
- What sort of content would you like to see @ pluggd.in?
- What sucks? (Please be candid)
- What else? Any suggestion(s)?
Will look forward to suggestions.

Hurrrayyyy. Felicitation.
Congrats! You are too good – keep up the job and have fun.

just keep up the good work.. i really thought hard but found nothing that i could criticize about pluggd.in…. you are carrying out exactly the way it should be… why not have some stats on this occasion.. like total UU, subscribers, no. of comments, avg comments per post, AND YOUR FAVOURITE SITE IN EACH CATEGORY…. BEST AND WORSE(SKIP THIS) ENTREPRENEUR….
What I like about pluggd.in is that it’s written in a very candid manner — not like a big media company, like what TechCrunch etc. have become (must have been like pluggd.in some years back). This personal touch is great. Even if you try to increase the number of posts, please don’t lose this personal touch.
A few things you could consider adding:
1. A section on relevant industry reports — from Forrester, Gartner, eMarketer.
2. A section on some of the more technical things — technical challenges that indian startups face (starting from say how to get an SMS shortcode — you have to tie up with every operator individually and your systems have to work with them — these could be more like guest post from their technical team)
3. Sometimes a little more detailed and investigative analysis, comparisons with the aid of real numbers rather than just feedback as a user.
And, of course, congratulations!
Congratulations,
I agree with the “personal touch” comment. As the site grows, I know it might be difficult to retain it.
Even though the site name is pluggd.in, I like it because there is very little commercial plugging on your part.
As far as suggestions for improvement, the site could use some changes. How about more media content such as interviews, a candid podcast (I would love it), more pictures, coverage of events, a calendar widget, a chat site etc.
Keep it up.
Congrats!
Congratulations Ashish!
I am big fan of pluggd.in
Sorry for late reply
Ashish u r doing fantastic job…
Just one line “One of the best original indian blog”
how abt sharing yout opml file? would be interested in knowing what you read !
Niraj – you summed it well : “One of the best original indian blog”!
new design??
everything else is cool. when is the new design coming up. Am sure you all must have done a great job…
… i cudn find nythin more useful than pluggDin fr information on indian startups…
out of total 1000 posts i could read bout 700… missed few o them during my sem exam days only…
… suggestions : Reviews of the startups/products that have been discussed here after a fixed interval of of time. like 3 months from start. let everyone predict the future of the startups with some reasoning and inform them again after 3 months wn the review zz done…
…………
-> nothin bad bout this site…
.. it can include project bidding etc/ freelanc kinda things in startup jobs section…
-> coffee is not active i think… you can make it more interactive discussion platform ( keeping blog/post alignment of pluggdin alive) …
in the end as you someday in your 1000 posts mentioned to separate good ideas from bad ideas… thats up to you..
all the best… m goin to read 900 out of next 1000!!
My candid suggestion: cut down on google ads.. Pluggdin is loaded with such ads. Why not try some better layout which is aesthetically pleasing and foucuses on content rather than ads.
Content is very informative, but ads annoy me.
Thanks guys for your words of encouragement (keeps me going!:D)…
@kpowerinfinity: Will focus on bringing relevant market reports.
Personal touch is very important and that’s why I don’t like TC anymore.
@Vivek: Will take that as my next ToDo.
@Niraj – Thanks a ton for your feedback!
@VT- No design changes coming in the near timeframe. Will improve on this one.
@Paras – Started trying out the adsense yesterday..any suggestion on “aesthetically pleasing” layout?
Also, I will share my opml file soon..
Well, by aesthetically pleasing I meant using google ads only where it is standard. You’ve put ads at the beginning of posts. That shouldn’t be done. The ads really come as a surprise. So, the ads at the top of the post are better if removed.
Plus, Link ads at the left are totally uncool. I haven’t heard or seen anybody clicking those link ads. Placing that unit in the side bar is akin to fooling readers that those links are part of this website. But the readers are smart enough not to click on them. So, why put the link ads in the first place.
Your header is totally underutilized. You could put a banner ad there (in place of custom search, which could be relocated to the right sidebar).
cool suggestions Paras. As far as link ads vs. the others are concerned, you will actually be surprised to know that link ads do a lot better (if placed at rgt location) than others…
your header suggestion is well taken – will take care of that
Great work and good going dude
