In a never ending story, 3G auction is likely to get delayed (again), as DoT has failed to release the Information Memorandum (IM) document, a key document containing details of the auction (availability of radio frequencies across circles, policy changes, mode of payment among several other issues).
The Information Memorandum (IM) document was slated for the release on September 29th and the delay will impact the October 8th deadline for submission of questions for pre-bid conference.
“..the primary reason behind the delay in releasing the IM was that they were yet to map out the availability of 3G airwaves across most circles. The DoT has not been able to complete this task as the defence ministry has now refused to adhere to the timelines specified in the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the communications ministry and the armed forces for the vacation of these 3G airwaves”(source).
Maybe we should just wait for 4G?
DoT guys are way to close to their retirement. Don’t expect much to happen soon enough.
